The Effect of the Therapy Program with Stories on the Emotional Management Skills of Children with Speech and Language Disorders

The aim of this study is to examine the effect Therapy with Stories Program on emotional management skills children speech and language disorders. study, in which a single group Pre-test-Post-test experimental design without control was used, conducted 14 aged 5-8 years There are 9 stories (3 anger, 3 sadness, anxiety) prepared by researcher Program. were read three times program completed weeks. In program, strategies asking questions drawing pictures used along using figures while reading therapeutic stories. Before after application, Children's Emotional Management Skills Anger, Sadness Worry Scales semi-structured interview forms applied mothers. obtained data analysed Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test. As result research, therapy increased ability disorders cope sadness anxiety; It has been found be effective suppressing reducing use unregulated expression. According mother's observations, it determined that decreased expression anxiety disorders, their coping skills. addition, 10 provided regulation parental support before seen 4 program. these results, can said helping gain manage emotions support.
